Unpopular opinion- I kind of hate January.
You read that right… I just don’t like January.
January always shows up with expectations and that quiet sense that you should already feel clear and motivated. So allow me to say that if you didn’t start the year feeling all "new year, new me", you’re not behind. This time of year isn’t meant for certainty. It’s meant for settling back into yourself after a lot of noise. The holidays. The end of the year push. All the holding it together. It’s EXAUSTING. So contrary to popular belief, you don’t need a big plan right now.
You don’t need to decide anything major.
You don’t need to prove momentum.
What you might need is a little space to notice how things actually feel. What still feels heavy from last year? What are you tired of carrying?
Allow me to kindly remind you that clarity doesn’t usually arrive when we (or the calendar) demand it. It actually often shows up when we give ourselves room to listen. If this month has felt slower or quieter for you, that’s not a problem to solve. It’s information! In 2026 I decided to let January be a re-entry, and a soft start. I have used it as a chance to get my footing. I celebrated alllll of the small things and freedom dreamed about what’s next. And guess what?… I ended up feeling all bright eyed and bushy tailed purely by accident.
Cheers to entering 2026 grateful that you made it out of 2025. Yes we have goals to hit and they will come because we’re magical. But for now, I am perfectly fine simply sitting in gratutude and basking in the bounty of 2025’s blessings.
